The Gateway Arch

Construction on the gateway to the west began in 1963 and was completed in 1965. The arch, as it’s affectionately called by locals, stands 630 feet high and dominates the St. Louis skyline. No visit to the St. Louis area would be complete without a visit to the top of the arch.

Powell Hall

The home of the St. Louis symphony and one of the most beautiful, and acoustically perfect buildings in the country, Powell Hall was originally called the St. Louis theater and later Powell Symphony Hall. Located at 718 North Grand Boulevard, it is a definite must see in St. Louis.

Bigger than New York City’s famed Central Park, Forest Park is located in the Western part of the city. It is also the home to the St. Louis Zoo, Art Museum, and the Science Center—all of which are have free admission!

St. Louis is a baseball and hockey town. In the summer you can watch the Cardinals play at Busch Stadium located at 700 Clark Avenue. In the winter it’s hockey time, where you can see the Blues take to the ice at the Stocktrade Center.

Eat Pizza, Toasted Ravioli, and Gooey Butter Cake

St. Louis Pizza is different than any other pizza you’ve ever had. On top of its paper thin cracker crust is a layer of the love it or hate it cheese Provel. Toasted Ravioli (which is really deep fried ravioli) was invented in St. Louis and remains a staple of St. Louis cuisine. Where’s the best gooey butter cake in the city?
